Feeding Therapy
Learn more about individual and group feeding therapy
Individual Feeding Therapy
First, a complete evaluation will take place to find out the root cause of the individuals feeding difficulty. Feeding differences can be caused by a number of factors such as sensory processing difficulty, the inability to masticate food properly, aversion to certain food textures/smells or the reluctance to start introducing solid foods. We understand starting solids can be fearsome! We are here to help guide you and your family through the feeding process.

The treatment plan will depend on the underlying cause of the feeding difficulty. The cause will determine the strategy implemented such as the SOS Approach to Feeding, Oral Placement Therapy, Baby Led Weaning, Sensorimotor Feeding Therapy or a combination approach. The end goal is to help the individual gain a positive experience around food, develop the oral motor skills to consume food and make mealtime fun again!

Group Feeding Therapy
Following an assessment, the therapist and family will discuss the benefits regarding an individual session or group session for the child. Some children benefit from a model from peers to explore novel foods while others thrive with a tailored unique 1:1 session approach.
